Room Status (Roomstatus)

Room status — sometimes written together as “roomstatus” — is the live state of each hotel room: vacant-clean, vacant-dirty, occupied, inspected, or out of order. It decides what can be sold in the next hour.

The classic failure is selling a dirty room: the guest arrives, the bed is unmade, and the review writes itself. A live room status board shared between reception and housekeeping phones eliminates that.
